Newmont Yanacocha – Cajamarca, Perú

• Approval of Modifications to Environmental Impact Assessment (MEIA). Since 2017 we have managed the social component of two modifications to the Yanacocha Environmental Impact Study, strategically managing the relationship with the evaluating entity and generating conditions of acceptance and dialogue with stakeholders in the territory. We are currently preparing the social component of the Yanacocha III MEIA.

• Substantiating Technical Reports (ITS). Since 2021 we have managed the stakeholder engagement on Newmont Yanacocha's knowledge of the scope of five STIs.

• Fulfillment of social commitments. Since 2021, we have been managing the status of compliance with the social commitments of the Yanacocha II MEIA. This activity allows coordination between the areas executing the social commitments, including the Communications Program. It has also allowed us to successfully address OEFA audits.

• Socioeconomic studies. Since 2017 we have conducted socioeconomic studies under the methodology of census to heads of households, evaluation of positive impacts, business plans, identification of NBI and IDH and geo-referencing of social and productive infrastructure of the territory of influence of Newmont Yanacocha.

• Human rights. In 2022, we conducted a study of perceptions of human rights in mining activities aimed at the population in the direct social sphere of Newmont Yanacocha.

• International standards. In 2023 Newmont conforms to the Global Standard for Tailings Management in the Mining Industry (GISTM). We conducted with them meaningful engagement with the population near the operation to inform the standard and identify and analyze opinions.

• Stakeholder participation. In 2018 we conducted the identification and analysis of perceptions about the Study of water variability in the Pampa Larga and Río Colorado streams for the acceptance of the study.
